Welcome to the Student Senate Blog / 2013 Section
Students, welcome to the CATS Academy Boston Student Senate Blog, especially made for students who do not have Facebook and teachers.
2013 Section
The Student Senate has not started again yet, and we had just one meeting so far last year, but, it is important to let you know what were, and probably still are, the hot topics:
- Extended breaks
A good part of the Senators advocate that our Winter break is too short. (Their idea is to start the school earlier, and faster, skipping the two weeks of "doing nothing" that we had the beginning of this year)
- Presidential elections
It has been pointed out by one that every student (even those who are not senators) should be able to vote to elect the Student Senate President.
- Nevertheless, the proposal has been rejected by all the Senators but by the one, because the Senators want to avoid a very popular person who are not necessarily good to be elected.
Achievements:
- Extended Winter Break: The Winter Break has increased from two to three weeks.
- A suggestion box has been made and will be placed, to receive suggestions from regular students about things that they want to be different in the school.
Your Secretary
